Associated organisations - Sanatana Dharma Samrakshana Parishad

No.155, 4th Cross, GKW layout, Vijayanagar, Bangalore - 560040. Ph: 09845942823

Sanatana Dharma Samrakshana Parishad (SDSP) was established in 2007 with an aim to conduct activities to preserve and promote the 'Sanatana Dharma'. It was formed with the blessings of late Sri. Talainayar Ramaswami Shastrigal in Vijayanagar, and was registered as a religious trust in October 2008. All activities of SDSP are supervised and guided by Sri. T R Panchukrishnan.

On every Ekadashi, the parishad organises namasankeertanam at it's premises. Bhagavathas from various places of Bangalore assemble and sing the glory of the Lord in the praacheena bhajana sampradaya way. Pradosha pooja is performed every fortnight (on trayodashi) with Rudrabhishekam. The Pradosha pooja is held at Sri Kashi Viswanatha temple, Marenahalli, Bangalore - 40.

The Parishad also conducts Ayyappa pooja, Chandi homa, Lalita homa, Deepa poojaa, etc on auspicious days through the year.

SDSP, by the grace of our sadguru, started Srimad Valmiki Ramayana Navaaha parayanam during last year's year's Vasanta Navaratri (starting on Chaitramasa prathamaa and ending with Pattabhishekam on Navami, in the Garbhotsava method) It hopes to continue this activity in the coming years. Parayanam of the entire Bhagavadgita is done on Gita Jayanthi. Akhanda Vishnu Sahasranama parayana and Akhanda Lalita Sahasranama parayana (continuous parayana throughout the day for as many times as possible) are held once a year each, either at the homes of SDSP members, or at sacred kshetras. Veda-parayanam and Srimadbhagavata-saptaaham are in the future scheme of things.

SDSP has also established a Shaastra library at it's premises in GKW Layout, Bangalore. The library houses a fully catalogued collection of thousands of books pertaining to various disciplines of Sanskrit traditional learning, including Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, Vyakarana, Tarka, Jyotishya, Tantras, Stotras, Kavyas, Koshas, writings of various philosophers, etc. The library is open free of cost to the staff and students of GGSS.
